In 1951 the United States Coast Guard began flying the HO4S. It is responsible for establishing an undeniable case for the USCG's need for a capable helicopter in its inventory. It was the first chopper to have a rescue basket as standard equipment, and was sturdy enough for use in towing operations. This design features a hand drawn HO4S in late 50s livery with a rescue basket being lowered.
